Rayn Epremian is a writer, filmmaker, artist, and language enthusiast telling speculative stories in various formats. Rayn’s story LIKE A BEE STING appears in the anthology VAMPIRES SAVE THE NIGHT (Gorgon’s Gaze Press, August 2025). Rayn also has a story in THE UTOPIA OF US (Luna Press, 2024), an anthology of works inspired by the novel WE by Yevgeny Zamyatin, with all royalties going the Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Rayn’s short story A STAR ON THE TONGUE, a finalist in the Language Evolves Competition 2020, was published in issue #10 of Fusion Fragment, and Rayn’s poetry has appeared in Liminality and ADR among other places. Rayn was a 2022 All3Media New Voice Awards (Drama) nominee for sci-fi TV script MAGPIE, and a finalist in the 2021 Emerging Screenwriters Shoot Your Short Competition for short film script UNA. In 2018 Rayn wrote, directed, and produced the short film MULTIVERSE.

Rayn spent February 2019 writing a fantasy novel at the Villa Sarkia residency in Sysmä, Finland, and attended the SLS poetry workshop with Ariana Reines in Tbilisi, Georgia in July the same year. Rayn has an MSc in Evolution of Language and Cognition from the University of Edinburgh, and presented a dissertation on the evolution of narrative at the ProtoLang and Cultural Evolution Society conferences in 2021. Originally from New York, Rayn is currently based in London.
